Nidya Sarria

Hello! I’m Senior Press Officer at Amnesty International USA, a global movement of people fighting injustice and promoting human rights. We work to protect people wherever justice, freedom, truth and dignity are denied.

Previously, I led strategic communications for the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, an organization representing over 4.37 million Hispanic-owned businesses. I’ve also developed communications and government relations strategies to achieve foreign policy objectives for the United Kingdom in Florida, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

I have a proven track record of securing press coverage for global and national campaigns, training senior executives and policy experts as spokespeople, and writing compelling op-eds for publication in top media outlets around the country.

Outside of work, I sit on the Board of Directors of CentroNía, a nationally recognized organization that provides affordable, quality bilingual education and support services to children and families in the DC area.

I earned a Master in Public Administration (MPA) and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Literature at Florida International University.
